Since our founding by legendary investor Tommy Davis in 1969, we have invested in relationships with entrepreneurs, institutions and our community to transform bold ideas into industry-leading companies. Our mission is to create global impact and investor value, by partnering with visionary entrepreneurs who are addressing disruptive markets.
We are currently investing Mayfield XIII, a $400 million fund focused on venture investments in the U.S. and Mayfield India I, a $111 million fund focused on investments in India-based companies. We invest directly in China-based companies and have a partnership with GSR Ventures, a fund we helped start in 2004. We have $2.7 billion under management, and over our 42-year history, have invested in more than 500 companies, resulting in over 100 IPOs and more than 100 mergers and acquisitions.
Our investment strategy mirrors classic early-stage venture capital and is contrary to today’s trend towards mega funds. We provide mentor capital and are committed to serving the individual needs of each of our entrepreneurs. We invest early and globally across the value chain in trends including cloud, mobile, social and green. Our key investment sectors include Enterprise, Consumer, Energy Tech, Telecom and Semiconductors.
