Velaura AI Raises $110M to Power the Physical AI Era

Today, Velaura AI announced a $110 million Series A at a valuation exceeding $1 billion.

This is our fourth time partnering with Rajiv K. at Mayfield and our second time with Manu Gulati. Both have built billion-dollar companies before. It has been a privilege to work with entrepreneurs throughout my career, and Velaura is the 37th unicorn I have had the honor of being involved with! We’re excited to work with Rajiv, Manu, and the Velaura AI team from inception as they build the ultra-low-power compute foundation for the next era of AI, especially physical AI.

Power is becoming one of AI’s biggest constraints. Hyperscalers are committing hundreds of billions of dollars to AI infrastructure, yet power availability remains a major constraint. As AI moves beyond the data center and into the physical world, the challenge becomes even more acute. Robots, drones, autonomous systems, and other intelligent machines must operate within strict power and thermal limits.

This is also an enormous opportunity. Physical AI has the potential to transform a $30 trillion global labor market – I explored this idea in my prior newsletter on Labor as a Service.

Velaura is making ultra-low-power AI computing practical for Physical AI and more efficient in the data center. By building purpose-built silicon and software for both hyperscalers and physical AI, the team is creating the compute foundation needed to deploy AI at scale—from the world’s largest data centers to intelligent machines operating in the physical world.

Congrats to Rajiv, Manu, and the entire Velaura AI team. We’re excited to support you as you build the next generation of energy-efficient AI infrastructure.
