Who We Are
Mayfield consists of a collection of investment funds and other entities. In accordance with industry custom, this Website occasionally uses terminology that may be interpreted to suggest that Mayfield is actually a single entity. However, there is no such single entity and all of the entities that comprise Mayfield have their own separate legal existence.

Nothing on this Website is intended to be, and you should not consider anything on this Website as, investment, accounting, tax, or legal advice.

Privacy Statement
Mayfield values the privacy of those who use this Website. Please read this Privacy Statement which covers topics from “Information We Collect” through “Disclaimer Regarding Business Information” (this “Statement”) for details about our approach to privacy. Except as supplemented or superseded by a more focused privacy statement or a binding written agreement, this Statement also applies to investors in Mayfield’s investment funds.

This Statement governs information you provide to us or that we learn from your use of this Website, and it tells you how we may collect, use, and, in some instances, share this information.

Information We Collect
In order to access some Mayfield services, you will be asked to provide what is generally called “personal information” (such as your name, email address, social security number, tax identification number, company name, and title/position). You may also be asked to provide questions and secret answers, which we use to help verify your identity and assist in resetting your password.

Mayfield may, but has no obligation to, monitor and record activity on this Website for any reason. Mayfield may collect “tracking information” about your visit, including the pages you view, the links you click, and other actions taken in connection with Mayfield sites and services. Mayfield also collects certain standard information that your browser sends to every website you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and language, access times, and referring website addresses.

When you receive newsletters or promotional e-mail from Mayfield, we may use web beacons, customized links, or similar technologies to determine whether the e-mail has been opened and which links you clicked, in order to provide you with more focused e-mail communications or other information.

In order to offer you a more consistent and personalized experience in your interactions with Mayfield, information collected through one Mayfield service may be combined with information obtained through other Mayfield services.

If Mayfield were to sell its assets, merge with another entity or file for bankruptcy, information collected from this Website generally would be a Mayfield asset and may be transferred.

The Way We Use Information
Broadly speaking, we use personal and other information for purposes of conducting our business and investment activities, delivering newsletters to subscribers, delivering information to our investors, providing customer service, and making available other products and services to the users of this Website. Additionally, we may use information that we collect from our users to understand their usage trends and preferences, to improve the way this Website works and looks, to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, and to create new features and functionality.

Personal information collected via Mayfield sites and services may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Mayfield or its affiliates, subsidiaries, or agents maintain facilities, and by using a Mayfield site or service, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country. Mayfield abides by the safe harbor framework as set forth by the United States Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of data from the European Union.

Notwithstanding any provision of this Statement to the contrary, except as we have otherwise agreed to in a binding written agreement, we reserve the right to use any information in any manner permitted or required by applicable law.

Sharing of Your Information
Except as otherwise noted in this Statement, we generally do not share personal information about our users with third-parties unless we believe doing so is appropriate in connection with the management or operation of our investment funds, or to carry out a user’s request, or we reasonably believe that doing so is legally required or is in our interest to protect our property or other legal rights or the rights or property of others.

We occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, such as processing tracking information; providing customer support; hosting this Website; performing statistical analysis; helping us to understand usage patterns for certain content, services, and/or the functionality of this Website; providing Website maintenance and security; offering certain features on this Website; assisting us in improving the way this Website works and looks; and creating new features. It is intended that those companies will be permitted to obtain only the personal information they need to deliver the service. They are generally required to maintain the confidentiality of the information and are generally prohibited from using it for any other purpose.

We do not plan to share user personal information with other, third-party organizations for their marketing or promotional use without user consent or except as part of a specific program or feature for which the user will have the ability to opt-in. Mayfield generally will not sell or rent user personal information to third-parties.

We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, therefore you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make reasonable efforts to ensure security on our systems. We use secure server software (SSL) and firewalls to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, please note that this is not a guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of such firewalls and secure server software.

A password is used to help protect personal information. It is your responsibility to keep your password confidential. Do not share this information with anyone. If you are sharing a computer with anyone, you should always choose to log out before leaving a site or service to protect access to your information from subsequent users.
