BlackArrow Names Larry Kramer Chairman, Tracy Martin CFO

BlackArrow Inc., a provider of ad-management systems for video content, has named Larry Kramer chairman of its board of directors and Tracy Martin chief financial officer.

Kramer, who has served on BlackArrow's board since October, is senior advisor at Polaris Venture Partners. He previously was president of CBS Digital Media, a division of CBS Corp. that he created to integrate all new media operations for the network. Prior to joining CBS, Kramer was chairman, chief executive and founder of MarketWatch until its sale to Dow Jones & Co., the publisher of this newsletter, in January 2005. Kramer was also vice president of Data Broadcasting Corp., and was a reporter and editor for the San Francisco Examiner, Washington Post and Trenton Times.

Prior to joining BlackArrow, Martin was vice president of operations, finance at Yahoo! Inc. He previously was senior vice president, operations and chief financial officer at Knight Ridder Digital. Prior to that, he was CFO for Red Herring Communications and corporate controller for NeoMagic Corp. Martin also held various senior finance positions at Apple Computer Inc. and was a senior auditor at PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Based in San Mateo, Calif., BlackArrow offers a software platform for all types of video delivery including broadband, video-on-demand and digital video recorders. Including a $12 million Series B round raised in October, BlackArrow has raised $17 million from investors including Comcast Interactive Capital, Cisco Systems Inc., Intel Corp., Mayfield Fund and Polaris Venture Partners.
