Webroot Adds Former Postini Chief To Its Board

Anti-spyware company Webroot Software Inc. has named Quentin Gallivan, former chief executive of Postini Inc., to its board.
In addition to serving as CEO of Postini, Gallivan has worked with VeriSign Inc., Netscape Communications Corp. and General Electric Co. Gallivan also sat on the boards of Postini, VeriSign Japan and Information Services Dentsu Ltd., a publicly held technology company in Japan.
Webroot has raised a single round a venture capital - a $108 million round from Accel Partners, Mayfield Fund and Technology Crossover Ventures in 2005.
Founded in 1997, Boulder, Colo.-based Webroot started out offering consumer-privacy products like cache cleaning and pop-up ad prevention. The company entered the anti-spyware market in 2003 with its Spy Sweeper consumer software product.
