Tejas Networks Wins Innovation Awards
Tejas Networks has been awarded the "TEMA Award for Excellence in Innovation" at the First TEMA National Telecom Awards held May 17, 2007, at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. This award was presented to Tejas Networks by Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, Honorable Minister of State for Communications & IT, and was received by Rajiv Mahajan, Govindan Kutty & Milind Kulkarni. TEMA (Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Association) is the leading industry association for Telecom manufacturing in India.
A panel of top officials from DoT, MTNL, BSNL, TEC, PWC and TEMA selected the winner after rigorously evaluating several global technology companies through a careful analysis of a variety of parameters including technology innovation, commercial success, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development. This award is a recognition of Tejas Networks' commitment to creating world-class products and brings them closer to their vision of becoming a global telecom product company from India.
Additionally Tejas Networks has been selected as the Voice&Data Emerging Company of the Year 2007. The evaluation was based on parameters such as innovative services, competence, leadership, revenue and manpower growth, and past recognition and achievements.
The selection was done by an eight-member jury under the chairmanship of Dr. D.P.S. Seth, ex-CMD, BSNL. and former member TRAI. The jury members consisted of eminent telecom industry captains such as Mr. S.D. Saxena, director finance, BSNL; Mr. C.S. Rao, ex-CEO, Lucent and ex-CEO British Telecom; Dr. Mukund Rajan, director, Tata Teleservices; Mr. S.C. Khanna, secretary general, AUSPI; Mr. Sunil Gujral, CIO - Quattro; Mr. Amitabh Singhal, director general, ISPAI; and Mr. P.K. Roy, chief editor, CyberMedia Group.
Tejas Networks will receive the award at a glittering function tentatively fixed for the evening of July 18, 2007 at Le Meridien, New Delhi. Captains of the telecom industry attend the event, the largest of its kind in India.
