Determina™ Inc., a new enterprise security software company, today unveiled a major
breakthrough in computer intrusion prevention based on technology developed at M.I.T.: the Memory Firewall™. With
SecureCore™, Determina™ first product, customers can, for the first time, can go beyond detection and prevention, and
instead pro-actively eliminate the threats of unknown malicious and destructive worms and computer attacks. Determina™
SecureCore™ proactively protects enterprise server computers against the most dangerous attacks with no false positives
and no need for human intervention. The company also announced a total of $19M of venture funding from premiere venture
capital firms including Bessemer Venture Partners, Mayfield Fund and U.S. Venture Partners.

During the past few years, mass worm attacks, such as MS-Blaster, SQL Slammer, Code Red and the most

2 alone, two of the most malicious attacks in 2003, as over $2BM. When added together with productivity and clean-up costs
associated with all attacks, the economic threat is enormous. Unfortunately, these attacks are increasing in frequency and
