John Stockton is a semiconductor industry veteran who has led numerous startup companies in the field. At Mayfield, John is focusing on development-stage companies in the semiconductor, MEMS and EDA sectors. He is also a Venture Partner at GSR Ventures.
John currently serves on the boards of Lattice Power, Mobert Semiconductor, Theseus Logic, DAFCA and Sirific Wireless. He also observes on LV Sensors.
Previously, John was chairman and interim CEO of ARC International, a semiconductor intellectual property company. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Synergy Semiconductor, a maker of high-speed bipolar ICs and Stream Machine, an MPEG-2 codec maker, and was founder and CTO of SVision.
John's prior experience includes VLSI Technology, where he was a VLSI Fellow and co-created the PC Chip-Set Division of VLSI, and ARM Ltd., a UK-based processor design and intellectual property licensing company.
John holds a B.E.S. degree in nuclear and electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
